A funny thing happened on the way to Yosemite.

In 2019, Dave and I took a trip through the Sierra Nevada mountains, crossing through the edge of the Mojave Desert and up into the Yosemite High Sierra area, passing through Lone Pine, Independence and Bishop among other places. This was our typical town-hopping trip connecting a few of the US National Parks, but this time, it was the trip to inspire a life change.

We quit our jobs!

What was it about this trip that gave us the idea to quit our desk jobs and check off our epic hiking list? Could it have been going from the lowest point in the US to the edge of the highest peak. Was it seeing other hikers making their dreams a reality at the infamous Camp 4 in Yosemite Valley? The fact that we saw the oldest, the biggest, and the tallest trees in the world, all in one small corner of the US? No, truth be told, we’ve been thinking and planning about this for a few years, but wasn’t sure when to pull the trigger. The timing felt right, so in the middle of the 3rd wave of the pandemic in 2021, we traded out our work laptops for some backpacks and spent the next few months learning the ropes with some hikes near where we live, in Ontario and the Maritimes in Canada. We’d love for you to join us in our journey to discover new places and things.

See you on the trail!
